സന്ധികളിൽ നീർക്കെട്ടും വേദനയും വരുന്ന ഒരു രോഗാവസ്ഥയാണ് ആർത്രൈറ്റിസ്. ആർത്രൈറ്റിസ് അഥവാ സന്ധിവാതം പല കാരണങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുവരാമെങ്കിലും ഇതു മുഖ്യലക്ഷണം ആയിട്ടുള്ള ഒരു വിഭാഗം അസുഖങ്ങളെയാണ്  റുമാറ്റിക് ഡിസീസസ് അഥവാ വാതരോഗങ്ങൾ എന്നു പറയുന്നത്.

ജലം ജീവന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ആണ്, വ്യക്തികളുടെയും സമൂഹത്തിന്റെയും  ആരോഗ്യത്തിന് ശുദ്ധജലത്തിന്റെ ലഭ്യത വളരെ അത്യാവശ്യമാണ്. മലിനമായ ഭക്ഷണമോ വെള്ളമോ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാൽ  കോളറ, ടൈഫോയിഡ്, ഡിസ്സെന്ററി, ഹെപ്പറ്റൈറ്റിസ് പോലുള്ള രോഗങ്ങൾ പടർന്നു പിടിക്കാനുള്ള സാധ്യത വളരെ കൂടുതലാണ്.
