New Delhi: The Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) has penned a letter to Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya concerning the NEET MDS -2024 Exam and the eligibility concerns of aspirants. The FORDA team has appealed to the Health Minister to reschedule the NEET MDS-2024 exam with adequate time to address the issue of ineligibility, ensuring students have a fair opportunity, preferably aligning with the NEET PG 2024 schedule. On Monday, the General Secretary of FORDA and dental representatives held a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Dr. Sarvesh Pandey, the General Secretary of FORDA, emphasized the importance of resolving the matter promptly in favor of NEET-MDS students and urged the Honourable Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to look into it. "We are writing to draw your attention to the urgent issue regarding the eligibility of approximately 8,000 BDS interns from the 2018 admission batch for the NEET MDS-2024 exam. Despite their continuous efforts over the past few months, they are now confronted with a challenging situation regarding their career prospects as the exam date approaches," stated the letter addressed to the Union Health Minister regarding the NEET MDS Exam. In addition, FORDA highlighted concerns regarding NEET MDS-2024, such as eligibility criteria, insufficient preparation time compared to MBBS interns, and legal rulings. The letter suggests extending the internship cutoff date for eligibility, benefiting approximately 8,000 interns, and proposes conducting unified counseling and admissions post-exam, in alignment with NEET PG. Despite these concerns, the NEET - MDS 2024 examination is slated to take place on March 18th.
According to information obtained through the RTI from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), it has been disclosed that 242 medical aspirants have been disqualified from participating in the upcoming NEET-PG 2024 examination scheduled for July 7, 2024.
